Would upper lip augmentation help hide my teeth? (Photo)

Question

I have a clinically reduced upper lip and as a result, my teeth are always showing, and I hate it. Not only does it look bad, but I think the constant exposure to air also makes it hella hard to make them whiter? So they're exposed AND look yellow. I want to know if getting an upper lip augmentation might help cover my teeth more? Also worth noting that I got my teeth straightened via braces, so having an overbite isn't the problem.

Lip filler can be helpful to reduce the amount of teeth that are showing.  Considerations include:
1) keeping the upper lip volume in harmony with the lower lip (which can also be augmented to maintain proper proportions) 
2) keeping the total lip volume in harmony with the size of your face.  You look like you have a smaller jaw width, so I suspect that your face would not be able to easily carry off extremely voluminous lips.  For that reason, you will likely be able to achieve reduction in the amount of teeth showing, but not complete resolution.

Your upper lip can be augmented and reshaped at the bottom to give you enough volume to hide your upper teeth. In expert hands, hyaluronic acid-based fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane Silk, and Belotero can do a beautiful job. Air doesn’t yellow teeth, but you can see a dentist for professional teeth whitening. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who has experience creating natural-looking lip augmentations to get the best results.

Lip fillers will augment your lip shape and hide more of your teeth. Results can be very natural-looking and will feel very natural. I prefer to use a micro cannula to inject the lips to prevent bruising. Look for a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon who is an expert in fillers to discuss your desired results and concerns.

Dear miss artemisI typically use Juvederm for my lip sculpting. There are two main focuses of lip injections, adding volume and actually sculpting the shape. Both involve injecting the filler in different areas of the lips and patterns.

miss artemis.  It appears from your photograph that lip augmentation with either fillers or transfer would be a good option for your particular condition. While complete coverage of your teeth is probably not an option, because it would look quite unnatural, significant improvement can be achieved. You would get a nice improvement with lip fillers which can cover some of your teeth. These fillers, (Volbella, Restylane, Juvederm) are good to create a symmetrical lip. Nova threads can be used to improve lift and shape. Implants or fat are alternatives. Technique will be important here, so you'll want to see someone meticulous. My best recommendation to you would be to consult an orthodontist to help you with your teeth.  Lip fillers will not change your teeth or hide the color of your teeth. I would not recommend fillers for your lips for you at this time.  Best, Dr. Green

Hi. Based on the photos you uploaded lip filler would be beneficial to volumize your top lip which in turn will help cover some of your teeth. It will not fix the problem fully, but definitely approve the overall appearance. The lip filler I recommend is Vollure because it is a smooth, less palpable, longer lasting product than other options.
