I've developed an extreme rash on my body after breast augmentation, what could be the cause? (Photos)

Notify your surgeon's office about what you are experiencing. They will likely want to evaluate you and consider meds such as steroids for your rash and to stop your diarrhea.

Thank you for your question.  The rash that you are describing is likely a reaction to a medication that you where taking after your procedure and will take some time to resolve.  Contact the office of your plastic surgeon to discuss your particular circumstances and medications.  He/she may recommend steroids and also medication/treatment for diarrhea.  Good luck.

Thanks for your inquiry, you need to go see your plastic surgeon and discuss if you need steroids for the rash and discuss why you have diarrhea, without an exam it is hard for us to advise. 

It is highly likely that this is related to a medication. It may be that it will take a couple more days for this to settle. Antihistamines should help. If this doesn't resolve a mild steroid cream will probably be  the recommendation of your PS. 

This rash looks like it is related to a medication - usually an Antibiotic.  It should resolve when you discontinue the medication, but the fact that it hasn't and is still symptomatic is a little concerning.  Often a short course of steroids - Prednisone by mouth will help it resolve.  The diarrhea may be related to the antibiotics as well and is usually self limiting = will resolve.  There can be an overgrowth of bacteria in the bowel secondary to antibiotics called Clostridium Difficile which can cause the diarrhea as well.  Given both of these problems, I think you should contact your surgeon for management of these 2 problems

Judging by the description and the photos it looks like you are having an allergic reaction to one of the medication you are taking.  I agree with stopping all of those.  The most likely culprit is the antibiotic.  You may need a short course of steroids to help with the rash and itching.  Diarrhea can be caused by antibiotics as well.  Follow up so your surgeon is aware.

I'm sorry to hear that to have a rash after breast augmentation.  As you're plastic surgeon has advised the most common cause of rash after breast augmentation is an allergic reaction to the antibiotics.  Antibiotics can also cause diarrhea.Because Benadryl and Claritin have not helped I urge to see your plastic surgeon for an exam to rule out other causes and a discussion as to whether a Medrol dose pack of steroids can solve the problem.
