I have 32A cup and they are pierced. Do the piercings jeopardize the surgery? I'd like to go to a full B (Photo)

Thank you for your questions and photos Shailay. The piercings shouldn’t be a problem. A full B cup is certainly attainable and should give you a nice, natural result. for a breast augmentation.  Nipple piercings need to be removed for the day of surgery but can be replaced after surgery.  The size, profile, and shape of the
implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall
measurements, and soft tissue quality.  This decision should
be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you
and your surgeon.  This entire surgery
can be performed with a small incision technique.  Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise.  Make sure you
specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have
had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a
surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a
qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

All piercings must be removed prior to surgery. Based on your photos - you appear to be a good candidate for Bilateral Breast Augmentation with implants. Be sure to seek an experienced Board Certified PS for in person exam- where all  of the surgery details will be discussed with you.

Hi Shailay and happy early birthday.  You are very smart to be careful about this.  I am also glad to see that you don't want to go too big.  Anyway, there is a way to safely minimize any additional risk from piercing by removing them before surgery (using a special way to way through the piercing track) and using special (sterile) adhesive bandages over the nipple and areola during the surgery.   Incision would be about an inch long under the breast fold.  In my twenty plus years experience as a BCPS, we have NEVER had a breast implant infection using this technique. Nipple piercing will not be a problem.  Seek a board-certified plastic surgeon, by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, in order to ensure you see the most qualified surgeon possible. Look at their reviews and study their before and after gallery to ensure you like their results. Best wishes. 

I have my patients replace any metal piercings with plastic. Some surgeons request they be removed. In consultation, I like to discuss my patient's goals, measure them, and then look at pictures of women with similar measurements with different size implants. Thanks for considering breast augmentation and being extra careful. In my experience, the piercings can be removed temporarily for the time of the surgery to lower the risks of infection. Once surgery is completed, then the piercings can be replaced. Speak with your plastic surgeon.

You would be a good candidate for a breast enlargement. I perform many breast enlargements on patients who have piercings. I have them remove their piercings before surgery. They are allowed to reinsert their piercings after surgery. Mentor has a great sizing system. Specially designed Sizers are inserted under the bra by the patient. Who can then see how you would look with the different sizes before surgery. I incorporate the bloodless breast enlargement technique , which I invented. Typically there is no bruising after surgery, patients are driving two days after surgery and patients go back to work three days after surgery. I have a lot of surgeons who are operating on their own patients five days after surgery.
