pmmom3 Thank you for the question and photograph. An in person consultation is necessary to determine your best course of action. While the number of syringes is important, please first consider the artistic skill set of your cosmetic surgeon. Just because someone offers juvederm does not mean they know how to artistically improve your lip contour. That stated ultimately you will probably need 1-2 syringes to achieve the lips that you desire.
Hello, in my experience, most patients get nice results with one syringe of Juvederm Ultra or Ultra plus. 2 syringes are usually used when someone wants a bit more exaggerated look--which is often influenced by social media and reality star celebrities. If you just want very subtle enhancement, a new product called Juvederm Volbella is great for lips and has been shown to last about 12-18 months. If you are serious about getting lip fillers, I recommend you see a board certified cosmetic doctor with experience with injecting lips. If you go to someone who is not a doctor (ie aesthetician or nurse), it's critical they operate under the supervision of a cosmetic doctor. Take care.
I always start with one syringe only and ask the patient to return inn2 weeks for re-evaluation. If desired, then a second syringe can be performed. You must remember, these procedures cause swelling and it's better to see how you respond before committing to two syringes. The more volume you place, the bigger they will get....Good luck, Dr. ALDO
Dear pommom3,based on your photo, you look like a good candidate for lip fillers. You will probably need 1-2 syringe of filler to get desired look. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. You will get the best recommendations after a thorough examination.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
You would get a nice improvement with lip fillers. These fillers, (Volbella, Restylane, Juvederm) are good to create a full lip. Most Doctors will start with one syringe to avoid over-filling. Nova threads can be used to improve lift and shape. Implants or fat are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
1. First of all 1 syringe of filler is the typical volume necessary for most women. Even if a 2nd syringe is required we usually wait after the 1st syringe is injected for at least 2-4 weeks before administering the 2nd syringe. The full effect of lip injection can take over 1 week and some patients might experience further volumization several days after the injection so over injecting on the 1st visit would not be the best plan.2. There are numerous choices of fillers that can be used in the lips. Experienced injectors often have several lip specific fillers that they utilize depending on the lip shape anatomy of their patients. While juvederm ultra plus is an option there are other lip fillers from both Juvederm and Restylane (including Juvederm volbella) that could be a better choice especially since newer fillers offer much better longevity in this area.
Hello,I would suggest go with one syringe and re-evaluate after 2-3 weeks and have another one if you need.I have had patients with smaller than your lips and doing great by series of lip injections.( the video is from one of my patients. this is 3rd syringe injection within 6 weeks)Although you need volume in upper lip but after one syringe it is going to be almost similar size or larger than lower lips. the rule of sculpting says 0.4/0.6 ratio for the upper and lower lips. Also injecting too much filler could potentially increase risk of small blood vessel rupture which would create asymmetry and sub-optimal results. You can have your ideal lips by filler injections and love your lips. All the BestRay Bayati MDGreater Sacramento Area, California
Thank you for your inquiry. You can definitely benefit from 2 syringes. Be sure you consult in person with a board certified plastic surgeon for your fillers. If you like the results you can always have more done in the future. Lip lift surgery is also an option to be discussed with your surgeon. Best of luck.
Thank you for your question and for sharing your photograph. Based on your photo, you appear to be an excellent candidate for lip augmentation with a hyaluronic acid based dermal filler such as Juvederm Ultra or Volbella. Beautiful and natural results can be achieved. I would suggest starting with 1-2 syringes. Please be sure to see an expert injector for an in-person consultation to fully discuss your concerns and your goals and expectations in order to determine the best treatment plan. Hope this helps and best wishes!
Based on your photo, I would guess that you will need 1-2 syringes. It it probably better to try one syringe first then add more if you want. Most patients need 1-2 syringes to achieve the look they desire. Good luck
It's difficult to predict the amount of swelling you'll have. I recommend injections with cannulas to limit swelling. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Hello,Yes the photo shows possible a bump on left side of upper lip.I would suggest to see your physician and he/she may massage the lips and it can resolve the issue altogether, if it is done with last few days. I routinely massage the lips after injection so there is no asymmetry or bump after...
You can certainly try 1/2 a syringe and see what you think. You can always add more. I suspect you will need a whole syringe, however.
