Is it normal to have discoloration after lip injections?

Thank you for sharing your questions and I am sorry to hear of your lip discoloration.  At times if the filler is placed too close to the skin surface it can result in some areas of lighter skin coloration or even a bluish hue.  Occasionally blood can be mixed with the filler causing absorption to take longer.  As it has been a number of weeks since treatment I would recommend warm compresses, arnica/bromelain, and eating dark leafy green vegetables to speed your healing.  Hope this helps. 

This is difficult to answer without pictures. Bruising can be typical after lip injections and can take several weeks to resolve. VBeam, icing and arnica can give improvement. I recommend injections with cannulas to minimize bruising. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. It may be that you still have bruises that are fading.  It could also be product that is superficially placed.  Since it has been a few weeks since your treatment you may want to return to your injector for an evaluation.  He/She may be able to provide more information after examining your lips.

Depending upon the exact time line and examination, the discolouration maybe a prolonged bruise. Sometimes if blood with iron stays for awhile, staining may occur in other occasions product placed too close to the surface may cause discolouration. Another cause is too much product causing a pressure effect. The majority of cases (except for Tyndall) will dissipate. Your specialist injector should know how to diagnose and correct.
