Dear 1scorpio,you will need to get a clearance from your doctor in order to be a candidate for a surgery. Also, you will need to reach your goal weight before you consider a tummy tuck, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
As long as you are in generally good health otherwise, and are able to obtain cardiac clearance, you can potentially have a mommy makeover. You will want to review your medical history and BMI with your board-certified #plasticsurgeon in order to determine the safest way to perform the procedures that will give you the results you desire.
Since you already have a medical clearance from your cardiologist, the next most important question is what is your BMI. A BMI over 30 increases your chances of having significant complications which then may be even more complicated due to the presence of a pacemaker.I highly recommend an in person examination with a Board Certified plastic surgeon experienced in abdominoplasties. Since time in the operating room should be kept to a minimum due to your pacemaker, I suggest your breast surgery and any liposuction be postponed until a second surgery.Once you achieve an optimal stable weight loss, do your due diligence and make appointments with at least three Board Certified plastic surgeons experienced in the Mommy Makeover.
I would recommend losing some weight prior to having a mommy makeover as you will decrease your risk of complications and also have a better cosmetic result. Strive for a BMI (body mass index) in the 25-30 range, which is under the obese cutoff. You should also consider having your procedure performed in a hospital setting due to your pacemaker.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno
Having approval from your cardiologist is crucial as well as being healthy and at a stable safe weight to undergo the MM. With a BMI over 30, your risks for complications during and after surgery are high and having an optimum result is less probable. Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. I recommend that you consult your cardiologist for medical clearance regarding your pacemaker. Once clearance is obtained, you will be a great candidate for a mommy makeover. This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACS Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. Assuming you receive cardiac clearance, and you are otherwise a good candidate for surgery, you should be able to have your mommy makeover despite a pacemaker. Hope this helps.
Hello and thank you for the question and sharing your photos. As long as you have a medical clearance by your cardiologist, you should be fine. I would highly encourage that you try to lose some weight prior to your procedure. The closer you are to your ideal body weight, the better the results of you surgery will be and there is less complication risk. I would start by consulting a board-certified plastic surgeon for a complete evaluation. Best,
1scorpioI appreciate your concern, however your first step must be to lower your BMI to around 30 prior to undergoing this extensive surgery. It will lower the chances of complications significantly and also allow your plastic surgeon to give you the best possible result. After you have achieved the weight loss, full medical clearance by your cardiologist will also be necessary. Your history of having a pacemaker should not be an issue if you are cleared by your cardiologist. Good luck.
Hello dear! Thanks for the pictures and provided information as well.As long as you have clearance from your cardiologist and based on your photos, you are a great candidate for liposuction, a full tummy tuck with muscle repair, to give you a nice tight tummy and get rid of the extra skin, and a breast augmentation, for perkier, youthful breasts. Along with the tummy tuck, liposuction allows your plastic surgeon to transform your entire shape. You improve your waist, back and flanks. In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less. The average cost varies a lot depending on the city, the clinic and the plastic surgeon. l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.Good luck :)
