Dr. Huettner came to the United States from Germany after attending medical school at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, obtaining her MD and PhD degrees. Not content with one residency, she completed two: her first in general surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and the second in plastic surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. She completed a fellowship in aesthetic plastic surgery and practiced for one year at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by three years at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine before heading to Manhattan to open her own private practice.

Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery - General and the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Huettner is also a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, just to name a few.
