Thank you for sharing your question. Unfortunately I am unaware of an indication for injection of 2500units of Botox and I would verify with your doctor that this is the correct dosing and indication.
Thank you for your question. Injection of Botox into the parotid gland is used for gustatory sweating or parotid fistula. Sometimes, an enlarged parotid is injected to help reduce the size. However, this requires 100 units or less of Botox. I am not aware of an indication for injections of 2500 units of Botox. I recommend verifying the dosage and indication with your injector. Best of Luck!
The dosing must be off. Injection of Botox in the parotid gland is used for gustatory sweating or parotid fistula. Occasionally, an enlarge parotid can be injected with Botox too, to reduce the size. However, doses of 100 units or less are usually needed for this.
This has to be a misunderstanding . 25 units to each masseter is a more standard dosage. Most places charge approximately $15 per unit of Botox , so im sure you price wasnt around $37,500.00
Hello rmolina,Thank you for sharing your question with us before proceeding. To answer the question: a unit is a unit is a unit the concentration will only determine the amount of actual liquid that is injected. Thus for that amount you will need 25 bottles of 100 unit Botox. Having said that I am not aware of any procedure or condition (medical or cosmetic) that would require that much Botox. I would clarify with your doctor the amount and indication. I would also strongly suggest a second opinion, that dose could prove toxic and lead to a host of unwanted complications.
Thank you for your question.Botox injected into the parotid gland can help with various salivary gland disorders. However, this is usually a very small dose and nowhere near 2500 units. I have not heard of a dosage that high when it comes to Botox. I would contact your Physician for clarification.Ariel Ostad MD PC
I think you must be mistaken. There is no reason to inject your parotid gland and maybe you are referring to the masseter muscle of the cheek. If so the dose should be no more than 100 units total. If you actually did receive the information you are stating it is time to find a new doctor
Please check with your doctor 2500u is very high. I believe he may be using 250u and even that may be high. When i used to use botox for large muscle spasm i on occasion used 250u but never close to 2500
You do not mention why your doctor wants to inject 2500 units into your parotid gland, but it is a lot of botox at one time and I would definitely get a second opinion before doing anything!!
A knock to your head is very unlikely to have any effect on the outcome of your BOTOX®, particularly as it was injected into your jaw. Remember that it does take between 7 and 10 days for the results of BOTOX® injections to fully develop, so try to put the knock out of your mind and relax. As a...
You probably have a very mild systemic botulism. The toxin that causes these symptoms is already fixed to nerve end plates. The antitoxin is only effective for neutralizing unbound botulinum toxin. These types of symptoms are usually at there worst for only a couple of weeks but of course it c...
The amount of botox given to you e. g. for crows feet is within the normal dose range (10-15 units) for the area. The amount of botox given will vary from person to person. The reason: The amount of muscle that is present is different from person to person - more muscle requires more botox. I...
