Will movement begin returning before 3 months post botox injection?

How
long Botox lasts depends on how much of the substance is injected. It would
be helpful to know the exact amount of units you were injected with, but
again the results vary from patient to patient and also depends on the
strength of the muscle. As you stated you were injected with a small amount,
it is possible that you could start to regain movement within this time. Many
patients report they start getting movement back after 11 or 12 weeks. 

Thank you for your question. As with other medications and supplements, people metabolize fillers and injectibles - such as Botox - at different rates. I typically use approximately 20 units of Botox per each area (glabella, crow's feet, forehead), which gives my patients the desired results they are looking for. Botox typically lasts about 3-4 months depending upon the volume injected.

Botox can and will wear off before 3mo depending on how many units was used on the areas. 
I generally use approximately 20units of botox per area which gives my patients the effects they desire for approx 3-4 months before they need to be retreated.

A small dose will only partial freeze a muscle.  A higher dose will paralyze a muscle.  The maximal effect will be about 2 weeks after treatment and be very much the same for a couple of months before gradually wearing off.  No botox treatment lasts 9 months.

Thank you for your question. It is important to not completely relax the masseter muscles because it would make chewing difficult. Typically, Botox lasts 3-4 months. You will want to repeat treatment every 3-4 months to keep the muscles from building up strength again. Botox is a very effective treatment for bruxism. Bruxism or grinding of the teeth can be successfully treated with BOTOX if injected correctly into the 3 major muscles (masseters,  temporalis and lateral pyterygoids) that cause it.  By relaxing these muscles teeth grinding during sleep resolves.  BOTOX injection should last between three to four months depending if it is diluted correctly and not over diluted and properly injected.  If relief is not felt after two weeks you should return for a "touchup" in order for it to be effective.
This is not a permanent fix and needs to be repeated every three to four months.  The injections help to reduce the strength of the muscles and size of the masseter muscle.  A long term advantage of repeated treatments to the masseter muscle if enlarged due to teeth grinding is shrinkage of the muscle and a more relaxed and natural appearance and a more narrow jaw line.  

The amount of time Botox will be effective depends on many factors, especially the dose used.  The less amount you put in, the less time you get the desired effect.  If you had a lower dose put in, you will most likely see the results start to wane before the 3 month mark.  If you want it to last longer, use a higher dose.

Typically, Botox works for 2-4 months before the treated muscle begins to gradually return to normal function, so time will tell in your case.  This variability depends on several factors including the strength of the muscle and the amount of Botox injected into it.  The skill and experience of the person injecting also plays a role.  I have a patient who I inject with Botox every two months while her sister comes in for treatments every three months; sometimes the duration of effect just varies from person to person.  Hope this helps!
