Dr. Messina is by far one of the best medical professionals I've ever had the chance to meet. Coming from a medical background, I understand the importance of discussing a patients' concerns as well as being honest and knowledgeable. Dr. Messina is one of the kindest, intelligent and genuine people I have met. Not only are his prices reasonable but he has integrity and is dedicated to his patients. Overall, a wonderful experience with real results!!
I am a 55 year old man who is not planning to retire any time soon. It is important for me to look well and be ready to perform like a much younger man. I noticed that wrinkles and circles developed under my eyes making me tired looking and wanted to do something about it that was not a surgery. I was referred by a co worker to Dr Messina in Commack , which surprised me because I didn't really think about males getting plastic work. Dr. Messina recommended Restylane for the areas under my eyes , the guy who referred me got Jueverderm but Dr Messina didn't like that under the eyes and thought that the Restylane was better in that area so I trusted him. (Aside , he does have a calmness about him that makes you feel comfortable) I thought being it was a shot in my face and just under the eye it would hurt but no , it barely hurt at all. He used a special flat point needle( sorry I forgot the real name) but he made a little nick in the skin and put the needle into that. The results were instant and got better in a few days. Dr. Messina said that this area is full of capillaries and I may see a bruise but that didn't happen. He also said expect it to go for 9-12 months which is good with me. I am sending my 2 photos one before and one 5 minutes after we were done. Im not yellow like the first picture, I took that one with my cell the other was Dr. Messina's camera.
I am 60 years old and took excellent care of my skin using what I believe to be top grade cosmetics that have sun screen and emoliants for my skin. Despite this natural aging took over and I developed smokers lines above my lip and marionette lined below the corners of my mouth. I have always been thin and I really think that makes lines and winkles seem worse. I also had developed lines at the top of my nose , forehead and crows feet. I received Dysport for these areas and will write about that later on. I was told that fillers in the upper lip don't look natural and if in the fine lines may become kind of blue or bumpy. Then I read about Restylane Silk that its thinner I guess and made just for the lip lines so I found a doctor who offered it in town. The restylane silk has lidocaine in it that makes It less painful but the doctor recommended a little shot to take the pain completely away and he did it through the inside of my mouth into the upper part by my canine tooth believe it or not scary as it seems the shot did t hurt. The injections were don't along the top edge of my lip ( I did not want to do the lower lip) and in the skin of the lip between my nostril and pink lips. There was no pain at all. I also had a depression at the corners of my mouth and wanted these marionette areas filled my doctor didn't like silk in that area saying its thin and instead used regular restylane there ( this was not in my $600 price but lowered the price so both syringes came to $1100 instead of $1200). I noticed the marionette area was filled immediately but the lip looked swollen. There was no bleeding and I didn't get a bruise but my lip was swollen for a day then became a beautiful natural looking lip with a nice edge and the smokers lines were gone! I loved it, I admit the swelling scared me bu my doctor has a policy that he encourages you to call with ANY worries and I did and he was just so kind and alleviated any worries. I recommend this product and will definitely do it when needed again. How long it lasts well I will let you know my doctor says 5-8 months. Updated on 7 Jul 2015: Its a week, Dr. Messina told me that the lip will set in this time and remain this way for the next months to come. I only did my upper lip and a little in the crease at the chin. The swelling was totally gone after the second day. Messina Esthetic Medicine is where I went and am very pleased with my result.
I have always maintained a good lifestyle with daily exercise and healthy eating. However, I always had a lip of fat on the sides that overhang my jeans. After childbirth even though I lost all the weight the skin around and below my belly button was loose and saggy. I read about exilis on real self and found a doctor who offered it near my home in Commack NY. I tried the procedure my doctor made me drink alot of fluids the day before and even after. I was suprised to find that he did the treatment himself which was nice. There was a sense of heat very much like the start of a hot stone massage, the tightening of my belly took about 20 minutes and the love handles took about the same. The areas were very red afterward but there was no pain. I didnt notice anything the first two sessions but by the 4th ( one week apart) i noticed the love handles were way down almost gone and the skin under the belly button much tighter. My doctor says over the next 3 months that will improve even more. So far I love it and may try it on my arms. I am 57 and would like some skin tightening on the arm as well. Dr. Mesina said that this counted as 2 seperate areas but he did not charge full price for the second which i was happy about.
A single syringe into each cheek is 1cc per side, not a lot of volume. However, Voluma has remarkable lifting power and that single cc can deliver remarkable results. I say try one per side, wait 2 weeks and see if you like to change. Its always easier to add more that to try and remove or dissolve filler. THere really is no healing time unless you get a bruise which can take a week of more the resolve. Without a bruise the cheek looks fuller and no particular healing is required.
Hello, you can choose what you want your Dysport to do just as you can with Botox. It is a dose or unit measure, THe more units the more profound your block. In the glabella area 60 units ( procerus 18, depressors 14/14 and corrugators 6/6 should render the area frozen. You could not pull down on the brows If you use less say procerus 10 depressors 10/10 and corrugators 6/6 you will most likely have some movement,
Im sorry for your persistent problem. I suspect this is due to the revascularization of the tip with multiple small vessels that give the red appearance. In my opinion, over time it will resolve on its own, I would be fearful to use any vascular laser because this likely represents healing and possibly you could harm blood flow in the newly vascularized area.
I have seen videos of people injecting the lid and it is very dangerous. First you can drop the lid entirely second yu can pierce the lid and harm your eye. If you get the glabellar area injected ( the 11 line area) plus 6 units on the outer edge of the brow ( that's an advanced technique so go to someone who does that) you can get a widening of the eye safely
I normally keep touch-ups within 1 1/2 months. The area you want to be touched up is a depressor area so its safe. We have to consider what each area does, the forehead elevates the brow while the "11" area depresses the brow. So touching up the 11 area will serve to raise and widen your brow should the forhead area wear off before your touched up area. Also the average area dose is in the glabellar (60U) and the frontalis anywhere for a low of 30 to 60, so you are correct in stating you need 77 units.
