A good rhinoplasty surgeon would certainly not let your nose look like Michael Jackson (a common fear). Instead, he/she would simply improve it while keeping it in proportion with the rest of your face. Taking the bump down and improving the tip support to resist drooping would look great and very natural at the same time.

A closed rhinoplasty approach can accomplish narrowing the wide nose, shaving down the dorsal hump, narrowing the tip, narrowing the bridge and narrowing the nostrils. Look for a very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon for best results. It is very important to make sure all the components of the nose balance with them selves, and the new nose balances with your facial features.

An evaluation in person is essential to review your goals and analyze your nose. Refinement can be achieved, but with thick tissues it can take longer.  Expect long term swelling for 6 months to a year in most cases.

Hi Leslie170,Since you did not provide the full front view photo, an assessment for your facial proportions cannot be made, but based from the 2 photos posted, we can determine on side view that you have a small hump and the tip of your nose is slightly big, with flaring alars, broad bridge, and slightly drooping tip. The goal of rhinoplasty surgery is for a nose that suits your facial features while appearing completely natural.  You should be able to reduce and refine your nose, making it smaller and thinner.  In addition, you would benefit from a chin implant.  If you place your finger from your lips straight down, your chin should almost touch your finger.  Yours is behind.  Having a chin implant will project the chin forward to better balance the lower half of your face.   When your chin is small, it will make the nose appear larger.  A chin implant and rhinoplasty will help balance  your facial features.
