I am assuming from your question that you have some medical issues for which you're seeing these doctors? Hello. Assuming you are over the age of 18, in the United States you can get plastic surgery without your doctor's permission. However, if there is a possible functional component (i.e. nasal congestion), then many insurance companies may require you get a primary care referral (again, depends on the patient's insurance policy). Also remember that plastic surgery is elective and if you have any potential heath problems that will make surgery riskier, your plastic surgeon may require you get clearance from your primary care doctor. Take care.
Answer depends on your underlying medical condition that got a neurologist involved in your care. Only a complete review of your medical history and physical exam will answer this question. Remember your safety is the most important issue.
If you are being treated by a neurologist for a significant medical issue, it is best to let your neurologist know that you are contemplating undergoing elective cosmetic surgery. Its best that your neurologist gives a letter of clearance to your plastic surgeon, so that there is no medical issues with your surgery or recovery.
Medical clearance is required before you have surgery. All relevant medical conditions must be revealed, including medications , tobacco use, recreational drugs, herbal supplements, allergies, etc. Any specialists treating you also need to give clearance .It's for your safety.
You can locate a Plastic Surgeon through the American Society of Plastic Surgeon's without the permission of any other doctors.
