What are the signs of infection after Rhinoplasty?

Hi, Ive had a rhinoplasty a month ago and i just wanted to know the signs of infection, either in the nose area of under the upper lip (gums) and how do they happen and how to stay away from infections

An infection after rhinoplasty include fevers, swelling,
increasing pain, redness, skin warmth and drainage. You should get examined by
your surgeon as soon as possible if you are worried about an infection so it
can be treated effectively and in a timely manner so that the post-operative
result is not negatively affected.

Developing infection after rhinoplasty surgery is extremely rare.  The symptoms include redness, swelling, pain and fever.  You should contact your surgeon immediately in order to avoid further complications.

I have noticed that some of my colleagues have already answered to you and you should now have a full understanding of what the signs or symptoms of infections are after rhinoplasty. 
I would say that the first two on the list are: bad smell and temperature as well as redness of the area. 
Infection rate is higher when a septoplasty, inferior turbinates decongestion and cartilage graft have are used. When I perform these additional treatments I always give preventive antibiotic for 6 days and monitor my patients in the first 2 weeks after surgery. 
What you can do to stay away from infection is:
- do not finger your nose (as you would be struggling not to do that due to the scabs forming inside)
- use saline water spray to clean the cavity since day 1 for 2 weeks. 
- use Rinostil nasal drops 3 times a day.

Signs of infection after rhinoplasty include: redness, progressive swelling, foul smelling drainage from the nose or the incisions, pain and fever. If you suspect something is not right I would suggest following up with your rhinoplasty surgeon as soon as possible.
