You should be safe to color yourhair once the cast is removed. The only potential risk is bumping your nose andnausea from the hair dye. Small bumps toyour nose can increase when you are close to others so be careful.
I would normally advise my patients to wait a few weeks before doing anything with their hair. Its important to keep the splint dry after surgery and more important to make sure you don't receive an accidental bump to the nose while you are having your hair dyed.
Dying your hair should not be a problem after these procedures, however I recommend patients stay home the first 7-10 days to rest aftersurgery. After that, going to the salon, shopping, and other light activitiesshould be fine. The best doctor for you to ask is your board certified plasticsurgeon.
In my practice, there is no restriction regarding hair dying after rhinoplasty or chin augmentation. The incisions are not located near the hair. Use common sense regarding how you feel after your surgery as to when it would be appropriate to go the the stylist. All the Best,Dr. Brian Reagan
Rhinoplasty unlike facelift and brow lift has no incisions that would be in contact with the dye risking tattoo, therefore the tear can be died at almost any point after a rhinoplasty. Your surgeon may have a preference but I do not restrict my rhinoplasty patient's from dying their hair beyond the fact that I want the splint to remain dry until it is removed at 8 days postop.
