Why do I have tingling at my hip bones 5 years post-op tummy tuck?

I am 5 years post op. I gained 10 lbs. My stomach is no longer flat and looks to be protruding. I have had tingling at hip bones, & mid section. What is happening? should I go back to wearing garments? any suggestions

It's not uncommon for weight fluctuations to occur after a tummy tuck, and gaining some weight may cause changes in the appearance of your abdomen. Tingling sensations could be related to nerve regeneration or irritation, but it's important to consult with your plastic surgeon to determine the exact cause and appropriate course of action.

As for wearing compression garments, they can provide support and help manage swelling, but their effectiveness at this stage in your recovery is unclear. 5 years after surgery is a long time, and this may or may not be associated with your tummy tuck. Compression garments are designed for the weeks and months right after surgery, so these may not help. It would be a good idea to see your surgeon for an examination. You may also visit your primary care physician, explaining that you’ve had a tummy tuck (if they already don’t know).

You are beyond the recovery phase and garments will do nothing for you. I presume the tingling has been with you for quite some time, probably years. This sounds like incomplete recovery of some of your sensory nerves; fortunately it is not painful. If you have just begun having tingling at your hips five years after surgery it may not be related to your tummy tuck.  Results from this procedure can be altered with weight gain or loss.  If you are noticing that your tummy is no longer flat it may be a result of increased visceral fat from weight gain.

Recurrent abdominal laxity years after abdominoplasty suggests significant weight fluctuation, (extremely) late abdominal fascial disruption, the presence of stretch marks which predispose to further stretching and sagging, an intervening pregnancy, etc.
One cannot determine the nature of your concern without an examination.
The tingling of your hips may be the result of permanent sensory alteration as the result of your surgery. This is not uncommon. Although no major nerves are severed during the procedure, small (often microscopic) nerve fibers may be inadvertently traumatized at surgery.
Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion.
