I got a submental lymph node after got injected botox and Restylane in chin months ago. Last month I got radiesse in my chin, the lymph node gets bigger and harder, so I went for a FNA and cytological examination. The report shows some "foamy foreign material" is in my lymph node, I don't know whether that material is botox/ restylane/ radiesse and I have no idea what to do. The lymph node gains everyweek. Any suggestions will be appreciated!!!

Answer: Lymph node enlargement after radiesse Generally, lymph node enlargement is not a complication of filler injections. Given, the FNA results, it is likely the radiesse is present in the lymph node causing a interruption of lymphatic drainage. It is less likely to be the restylane given the time course. Unfortunately, Radiesse tends to be more difficult to get rid of. A trial of hyaluronidase injection couldn't hurt. Direct drainage, compression, and or removal could be needed. A consultation with an ENT or Facial Plastic Surgeon would be a good idea.

Answer: Lymph node enlargement after injection treatment it is highly unlikely that Botox and Restylane can cause lymph node enlargement. It could possible be that some Radiesse got picked up from the chin by the submental node. Fortunately the cytology is benign. See your doctor for possible judicious injections of Kenalog to the node if the enlargement does not subside on it's own.

Answer: Unusual submental lymph node after Botox and Restylane injection: Unusual submental lymph node after Botox and Restylane injection:Go back to your doctor and please have them put you on oral antibiotics. I am not happy with the lymph node getting bigger and do hope that you only have some minor infection. Ask the doctor if they feel the area where the lymph node is needs to be drained and if they suspect any infection.

Answer: Submental node after facial filler Thank you for your question.Submental nodes should be biopsied via excision by a head and neck surgeon to make sure there is no malignant pathology. FNA may not be diagnostic as in your case. Make sure you see an otolaryngologist or head and neck surgeon for guidance and not any other specialist.Excisional biopsy becomes even more important if there is a history of smoking or having other risk factors for head and neck cancers. Discuss this with your primary care provider as soon as possible. BestDr Karamanoukian
