My nose is bulbous and thick. I was wondering with rhinoplasty if I nose like the one in these photos are achievable. And if there is any surgeons that specialize in this type of rhinoplasty.
Answer: Possibly Hello, A consultation with a specific Board Certified Plastic Surgeon would be needed to determine if the picture can be achieved. A nose defines the face, and a surgeon would want to make sure that the nose works well with your features. A closed scarless rhinoplasty would be best to refine your nasal tip and permanently contour your nose by slimming down the nasal bones. Through a scarless approach you can accomplish your goals with no scarring, less healing time, less Best of luck! Deepak Dugar, MD Scarless Rhinoplasty Expert Beverly Hills, CA 90210

Answer: Can I achieve the looks of the model in the picture. This is an interesting way to ask your question. Let's see what are the difference in the two pictures. Your nose has thicker skin than the model. The internal catilages are probably similar in shape and size, but the thicker skin hides the structure and the architecture of you nose. There are other difference that you might find beautiful in the models face. For example her upper lip is shorter and her lips are fuller. Both these changes are possible for you by doing a lip lift and possibly some lip augmentation. Your nose can be improved by a tip rhinoplasty, but you have to be aware of the limitations du to thick skin. It is important that you consult with a plastic surgeon who has a keen aesthetic sense and looks at the entire face to see what could improve your looks.

Answer: Thick bulbous nose It's absolutely possible to improve the shape of a nose like yours in my experience, Without an exam, it will not be possible to fully evaluate you and give you recommendations. Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. Be certain your surgeon is properly certified. I've attached a link where you can start your search.

Answer: Refining a bulbous tip Thanks for your question and photos. For refining the tip of the nose, either a closed or open (my preferred method to get maximum control of symmetry) tip rhinoplasty can be performed which refines the bulbous area with minimal scarring. An open technique allows better visualization and control of the paired cartilages which act in conjunction to define your tip shape and symmetry. The ability to see both cartilages simultaneously and work on them together allows the surgeon ultimate control over both the shape and symmetry and, of course, beauty of the nose. Make sure you see a board certified plastic surgeon and look very carefully at their before and after photos of other patients. Computer imaging can be a useful tool as well but don't solely rely on that when making your decision.

Answer: Refinement of the Bulbous Tip Nasal skin thickness will definitely limit the degree of tip refinement a patient can achieve with rhinoplasty. That being the case, cephalic reduction combined with tip sutures and possible tip grafts will help to refine your tip. I suggest consultation with a surgeon specializing in rhinoplasty for a thorough exam and consultation. Good Luck!
