Does temporalis fascia grow back after being harvested? It was taken from the area above my ear for my primary rhino a year ago.

Now I may need some more for a revision, can it be harvested at the same site? Or it never regenerates ?

Dear cali4nain,unfortunately your fascia will not grow back again. If you need it again for a revision surgery your surgeon can harvest it from the other side. Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS

a remarkable piece of tissue when needed for rhinoplasty , but no, I have not read that it could regenerate.  It's purpose is to contain the muscle but its removal has never presented an issue in my experience

The temporalis fascia never regenerates. However, depending on the size that was harvested at your first surgery, your surgeon could elect to use the same side. If a large piece was harvested, they may decide to use the opposite side.
