Question

I have a small, possible superficial skin wound on the side of my Breast and I’m trying to figure out if I need to be concerned. I had my breasts augmented 6 years ago and I have saline implants.

swift.    Hard to say without physical exam, but you should get checked out by a board-certified plastic surgeon as soon as possible, as a precaution. It might be something as simple as irritation area from clothing, but you should get it checked out. Best of luck.

This appears to be some inflammation in the skin and is probably not related to the underlying implants. Best to have this evaluated by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon if deemed appropriate.

However, the photo is a not a substitute for an exam by a medical professional which is what I would suggest you do this week. From the photo is looks like it is unrelated to your breast augmentation. But it is impossible to say without an in person physical exam. The best thing to do is to see your surgeon, a dermatologist, or even your pcp for evaluation as it could be a skin lesion of some type. I hope this helps.Good luck and best wishes!

Get this evaluated by a physician.  You may need a skin biopsy.  It is better to be sure than to guess.  Go in and get it evaluated so that nothing is missed.  I hope this helps.

Thank you for your question. The small wound looks to be separate from the breast implant procedure. This could be a cyst or pimple. I recommend seeing your plastic surgeon, pcp or dermatologist for a consultation.

This appears to be an irritated or infected superficial cyst.A check with  your dermatologist or plastic surgeon would confirm.Hot compresses and bacitracin ointment with a bandaid will help.
