Who is the best surgeon for a breast augmentation revision, specifically for symmastia? (Photo)

Symmastia repair is very difficult.  I would suggest a board certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in breast augmentation.  Make sure to ask to see photos specifically of symmastia repairs that they have done.

Symmastia is a challenging problem to correct and there is no guarantee the greatest plastic surgeon on earth could completely correct it 100% of the time (assuming you could ever get other plastic surgeons to agree who is "the best"). Depending on the current location of your implants you'll either need a pocket change to sub muscular (if you are above) or acellular dermal matrix to close off the pocket if you are already below the muscle. I would suggest having an in-person consultation by a local breast implant revision expert in your area to be properly assessed and see what your options are. Hope that helps! 

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you will benefit from a symmastia revision using galaflex and changing your implant position.  It is very
important that you thoroughly research your surgeon before committing to
surgery. It is a good idea to research your surgeon's educational background,
online reviews, before & after pictures, and speak with anyone who you may
know who has had surgery with that surgeon. During your consultation, make sure
that you don't feel rushed and make sure that you have adequate time with your
surgeon and not just their patient coordinator or nurses. If the majority of
your consultation is spent with someone other than the surgeon, this is usually
not a good sign. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are
comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified
board-certified expert surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Dear Summer111,Many women seek improved cleavage. Narrowing the cleavage plane can be done very carefully by a skilled surgeon. Moving the implants too far medially can result in synmastia or unaboob which is very difficult to correct. That being said, the right amount of pocket dissection and implant selection can create excellent cleavage. Finding the right Dr. is extremely challenging especially with the number of online platforms and resources available. There a lot of great Dr's available. Definitely check to make sure your choice specializes in the procedure you want and spend the time to read through patient testimonials.

You need to find someone who is versed in repairing this problem, In particular using some of the acellular dermal matirix such as Belladerm or Alloderm. This are complicated cases and you need to find someone who has done many of them. 

so be careful in choosing your surgeon.  Symmastia is a straightforward problem with a clear solution and it should work unless sutures are disrupted as you are healing or ir your implants are simply to wide for your body.  If you must see another surgeon, get your op reports so the other surgeon knows what failed (and so it won't be done again).  And 'best' does not equate with outcomes as everyone has good and bad days in their careers and no one can control what a patient does post-op.

I am sorry you are having this problem. Symmastia can be challenging to correct so you are on the right track to ask for referrals.  Definitely do your research and seek a board certified plastic surgeon who is a member of ASPS or ASAPS and one with experience in breast augmentation revision.  There is more than one solution to your symmastia and I advise seeking at least 2 consultations.  It will be important (and helpful) to bring your previous operative reports and details about your implants to the consultations.  Then choose a surgeon whose plan and experience are matched with your expectations.  I wish you the best of luck.

Are you under or over the muscle? If over, placing under the muscle should correct the symmastia. If under, picket correction with mesh (galaflx or strattice) should fix the problem. See someone experienced in revisions.

Sorry for your problem but it can be corrected.  So I would look for an experienced board certified plastic surgeon who on consultation can show you photos of previous patients he has repaired and fully inform you how it can be accomplished Dr Corbin
