I am losing volume in my forehead and temple. My scalp feels thinner and I am showing temple arteries. Can filler help? (Photo)

There are several types of injectable fillers that can be used to add volume to the temple region of the forehead.  This is a commonly treated area of the face.  I would consult with a physician who is experienced with a wide variety of fillers so that you can get the pros and cons of each one.  

Volume and contouring of the face and temples can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra. Implants or fat are alternatives. You concerns can be addressed using fillers. I prefer treating temples with Sculptra Aesthetic. I use a hyaluronic acid based filler like Restylane when treating the forehead or eyebrows. I recommend you schedule an in person consultation with an experienced local aesthetic physician to determine an appropriate treatment plan.

I would consider the use of Sculptra for your temples and mid face area. Unfortunately we lose 1% of our collagen per year starting at around age 20, so this is a good method to get some of the collagen back, which will help us achieve a more youthful look. This is a natural fruit acid injected into the perimeter of the face to help with global volume loss. It is natural, gradual, and long lasting. It is great for restoring volume in a natural looking way. I would recommend consulting with an experienced injector. Best of luck!

Thank you for your question and photos.  Fillers can definitely be used to contour the face and temple.  My personal preference for the temples is a filler called Radiesse, although several other fillers can be used in this region as well.  Fillers in the rest of the face can also be used to restore symmetry and the volume that we lose as we age.  An in-person consultation with an experienced injector can help provide more information.

Hi, thank you for your post. Certain fillers can absolutely give you back that volume loss in your cheeks and temples. Ones that can help give you a great result are Voluma and Sculptra. I dont see your scalp in these photos, but if you are experiencing hair loss or think or your skin is changing that dramatically, setting up an appointment with a board certified dermatologist is something I would recommend so you can get a medical evaluation too.
