I will be getting an alarplasty soon and the doctor explained he will perform an alar reduction like the photo posted. However i think my nose is very wide and this technique might not be enough to make it slimmer. How many milimeters per side or total in the width can this technique reduce?

Thank you for your question, Dominic26. you are in the very very early stages of your recovery. You should not evaluate your results but instead monitor your healing process. For example, notice how your swelling - which is causing this increase in base size - subsides over the next few days....
The Weir incision line can be extended all the way to the sill. The nose can be reduced more than the vertical line you have illustrated by simply removing a larger wedge. It does not appear that a sill excision would be necessary and this should be avoided.
