Thank you for your question and sharing your photos. In general, it would be unusual for the shape of the alar base for nostril to change after a lip lift procedure without also having a procedure performed on the nose, such as rhinoplasty. With that being said, it is possible that the shape of the alar base could have changed.Though, from the limited view provided by your photographs I don't see any excessive nostril flaring for a nasal base widening. However, it is impossible to determine this solely from pictures. I would recommend that you maintain follow-up with your surgeon and consider reviewing the preoperative photos and postoperative photos with that surgeon. Good luck and thanks again for sharing.Dr. Harmych
It is always hard to give advice based only on a picture but I think your nose and lips both look good. I have never had any changes to the nose from a simple lip lift. Compare your before and after images focusing on your nose. Good luck.
Thank you for your question, Dominic26. you are in the very very early stages of your recovery. You should not evaluate your results but instead monitor your healing process. For example, notice how your swelling - which is causing this increase in base size - subsides over the next few days....
The Weir incision line can be extended all the way to the sill. The nose can be reduced more than the vertical line you have illustrated by simply removing a larger wedge. It does not appear that a sill excision would be necessary and this should be avoided.
Swelling in mid face/nose can take months to subside! Was this NOT explained to you pre operatively?
