I’m planning on getting on syringe of juverderm. However I need to get my wisdom teeth removed. Does it matter which order I do this in?
Answer: Dental work and HA fillers I would recommend getting the dental work first. A filler is a foreign substance that remains in your body for several months. Although infections involving fillers are exceedingly low, they can occur. Another phenomenon is the formation of a biofilm around the filler which can be attributed to bacterial colonization of fibrous tissue encapsulating any foreign body including HA fillers. Normally there are no issues with fillers in a healthy patient. But, if the patient has an active infection or has a brief increase in bacterial circulation then the risk of the above complications rise. Dental surgical procedures shower oral bacterial into the bloodstream during the procedure and while the gums are healing. So, if new filler with a little blood around it gets showered with a load of oral bacteria from your wisdom teeth extraction the risk of infection and biofilm increases. It's a fairly low percentage, but not worth taking the risk for a cosmetic procedure. Getting the dental work done first and allowing it to heal completely and then getting fillers in your lips is the safest route. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Answer: Dental work and lip injections I would recommend having your wisdom teeth extracted first and then once fully healed you can have lip fillers. Lips often swell and sometimes bruise after filler treatment. This could be uncomfortable when adding dental work. In addition, it is important to keep risk of infection to a minimum.

Answer: Lip injections Dear knoxx, Thank you for your question. I would get your wisdom teeth removed first and then the juvederm injection. The reason is that the cheeks and chin have to be pulled during your dental visit.

Answer: Lip plumping after dental surgery Dear knoxx,You should have your wisdom teeth removed and recover fully (at least 6 weeks) before having lip augmentation. The retraction and manipulation of your lips during surgery could affect lip fillers if done before. Good luck!

Answer: Lip Augmentation before or after dental procedure In general, a dental procedure should not effect the results of a lip augmentation. However, some manipulation of your lips during the dental procedure could, potentially, stimulate the area to break down the filler a little bit faster. If you can wait, I would recommend getting your dental procedure done first. You can do the lip augmentation after you have recovered from your procedure. If you want to get the lip augmentation done first, I would recommend you wait at least 1-2 weeks before undergoing your dental procedure.Best of luck!
