Answer: Normal Swelling after Lip Injections Hello and thank you for your question. This is normal swelling after lip injections. It generally takes about 2 weeks following lip injections for all the swelling and bruising to subside and heal. The lips have a very rich blood supply, and for this reason they tend to swell more than other areas of the face. Swelling can cause lumps, uneven distribution and the loss of definition to your vermilion border and cupids bow. These post procedure symptoms often raise concern for patients, however, I always advise waiting the full two weeks before judging your final results. In the meantime, you should ice intermittently and take Arnica to help with the healing process. If for any reason you are still unhappy with your results at that point, you can have your injector dissolve them with hyaluronidase. Best of luck!
