I went to get fillers 3 days ago. My aim was vertical height on the top lip (0.8ml used). Now my top lip is falling over, partially covering the bottom lip, and the projection is huge. I know the injector only filled the body of the lip and not the border. If she fills the border will the lip "lift" and look less "hanging" or should I just ask for Hyaluronidase? Also, I feel the acid really stiff against my teeth, is this a temporary feel or just a sign that my lip is overfilled? Best Regards.
Answer: Swelling after Lip Augmentation with Injectable Fillers -- Swelling lasts 1-2 weeks, apply pressure, reverse with hyaluronidase There can be some swelling after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out any lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time.Technique will be important when working with the lips, so you should see someone meticulous. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Swelling Hi,You have some obvious swelling and a bruise. In order to assess the final results, you have to remain patient and allow the swelling to resolve. If after 2 weeks, you are still unhappy, the filler (assuming HA for lips) can be dissolved. Best,

Answer: Post Lip Enhancement Thank you for your question. Swelling post lip augmentation is quite common. This swelling can last sometimes up to 10 days so please do not be concerned. I recommend cool packs for my patients and arnica montana sometimes as I can see a bruise on your upper lip. The swelling should subside in time. I always review my patients after 14 days to make sure that they are happy with the results. Any lumps that are present can be gently massaged. Lumps that occur a few months after filler placement can be due to the migration of some of the filler into the lip muscle and not due to injector technique. Hyaluronidase is only used in emergencies or for a cosmetic result that the patient is not happy with though this should be a rare event as a proper consultation prior to treatment is essential as well as seeing a qualified medical/dental professional.

Answer: How soon should you worry after a lip enhancement? I would encourage you to take a deep breath and give yourself a little bit more time. You certainly have swelling and some bruising most likely which will improve markedly over the next 10 days or so. I usually see my patients back after 14 days to check and make sure they are happy with their results. You can try arnica montana to help with swelling and bruising (works best when started the day of the injection, however). Follow up with your injector about two weeks out and see how things are looking at that time. Best wishes, MKB

Answer: Lip filler swelling Thankyou for your question. You are definitely swollen and bruised. let thgis settle before you make any decision to have any of the filler dissolved. We usually suggest you wait a full 2 weeks .All lips treated initially look a little ducky. Hope this helps and good luck
