To improve this you really need a scar revision with liposuction at the same time.  A hi definition procedure would be best.  Dr. Emer.

I think a scar revision will have to be a component although liposuction would probably be very useful adjunct. If the scars anchored to the anterior fascia it's probably best to release the scar in advance the subcutaneous fat to prevent the depression.

I appreciate your concern, but if scar doesn't bother you, then just liposuction with small cannula Should correct unevenness. I think Scar revision would help situation though. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good Luck!

Scars of the lower abdomen (similar to c-section scars) often have a "shelf" of fat above the scar. Liposuction can almost help this. Sometimes a scar revision must also be done. The scar can sometimes be released by a method called "subcision" which just frees the scar from the underlying fascia. Some of the fat that was removed can then be placed in the area to give a great result without any incision larger than for liposuction. It is best to consult with a plastic surgeon experienced in fat transfer as well as scar revision to see if this a possibility.

Sometimes a scar revision is all that is needed to correct what looks like a step-off from the top to the bottom scar.

I do think you could get a good improvement of the contour with liposuction. But the technique would involve liposuction using the SAFE technique. This technique allows me to release the scar and then allow fat to redistribute under the scar so the scar does not re-form and cause additional indentations. Essentially special cannulas are used to separate the fat and to release the scar tissue. Some of the fat is then aspirated and then the special cannula is used again to redistribute the remaining fat. Separation, Aspiration, Fat Equalization
