With hi definition procedures you see results immediately.  you will however get swelling and bruising that can last for weeks to months.  I suggest you speak to your physician if you are concerned but at this point you should be focusing on compression, massage, hyperbaric oxygen and RF treatments. Most patients will see some improvement immediately after liposuction although it is true that swelling can replace the volume of fat substantially. For now you should remain patient.

Great question. This is absolutely normal. 1 week is VERY EARLY. Swelling may easily last for 2 months before you notice any significant change. It generally takes up to 3 months to see the results of liposuction. Swelling and distension can all contribute to masking the result. Bruising is not a sign of poor results, patients have different ways of healing as well as different time period of healing.In my opinion, you are expecting too much in just 1 week post op. I generally advise my patients to wait at least 3-4 months to judge the results or to await for skin contraction.Discuss your concerns with your surgeon.

Hi mayra606Thank you for your question.  It is to early to see your final results. You need to give your body at least 6 months for everything to fully settle.  Swelling takes time to got down.  Bruising, swelling and lumpiness is all normal at this point in your healing process.  Please continue all your follow up appointments with your plastic surgeon.  Best of luck

Hello dear, thanks for your quesion, I understand that every patient that has a plastic surgery wants to see some results right after the procedure, but unfortunately that is not possible because your body is experimenting some changes ans swollen. I would be patient its only been 1 week.It is normal because you are swelling, this will improve with time. Make sure you arel using the compression garment, sometimes with foam compression over the area, and continue to do frequent, vigorous massages. At 3 months you will be approximately 70% of your final results, at 4 months about 80% and final results at 6 months. Be patient! Good luck :)

At only 1 week post op, you certainly have swelling that will mask your results. The lumpiness, numbness and hardness after smartlipo or other types of liposuction typically persists at least 8 weeks after the surgery then slowly goes away. In my experience, daily massage of the hard areas makes the biggest difference in getting rid of it sooner rather than later. It can take 4-6 months to see your final result.
