I have discoloration on my abdomen and back after lipo. I'm a month post op. Will it go away?

Bruising after liposuction is common and can vary from patient to patient. If it has already been a month, the discoloration is from staining caused by the bruising. Certain lasers can be used to help with removal of the pigment. Before you do this should talk to your plastic surgeon first to make sure he or she is ok with that option. Also, applying hydroquinone to the area may help. Again talk to you plastic surgeon first before trying any of these options. Best of Luck.regards,Dr. Ravi Somayazula

Not all patients post op is the same, in some cases patients could present discoloration after a liposuction, which is normal during the recovery process, al though I recommend you discuss this with your board certified plastic surgeon so he/she could give you the right answer.
