Immediately after the injections my left cheek started turning blue-ish and by that evening it looked like a strawberry birthmark. My doctor told me it was a very bad bruise and to take arnica pills and apply arnica gel and by the next day i had white bumps.. it's been two weeks of nightmare! My doctor keeps telling me its a bruise but it does not look of feel like a bruise! It's been very sore like needles and also very itchy! It's been a nightmare!

Answer: It's Not A Bruise!! This looks like compromise of the blood supply to the areas of your injection. This needs to be dealt with ASAP to prevent the skin from dying and scarring. If you are not comfortable with your injector then I suggest you see a physician who can deal with filler complications. Do not put this off! Best wishes.

Answer: Can someone please tell me what is happening to my cheek? Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and I am sorry to hear of your complication. Unfortunately it appears that you had a vessel compromised as a portion of your injection, leading to a diminished blood flow to your cheek tissues. I would recommend getting your injector to place hyaluronidase throughout the cheek as well as pursue oral aspirin, topical nitro paste, and possibly antibiotics. Thankfully this does tend to heal well with time.
