The biggest issue I would see with IBS is comfort after surgery may be tougher. Some people get constipated with the pain meds after surgery and this may be less or more with patients with IBS. You may have to drink more water to ensure you are hydrated if you have lots of loose stools usually and lose water that way. However, IBS tends not to impact the body in a dramatic way that would keep us from doing a BBL. Your blood levels are going to generally be normal. Your body fat and butt structure are not going to be any different. So I would say that I would not be worried about performing a BBL on a patient with IBS.Good luck on your journey!Ramsen Azizi M.D.Double Board Certified Plastic SurgeonR.A.M. Helloand thank you for your question. More information regardingyour medical condition is needed for a better advice. Generally speaking,a stable medical condition, adequately treated, should not preventyou from getting a BBL. I would suggest that you see a board-certifiedplastic surgeon for a more complete evaluation.Best,PejmanAflaki, M.D.JohnsHopkins-trained double board-certified plastic surgeon
Hello, thank you for your question. Your board certified plastic surgeon will ask for a medical clearance from your PCP or specialist.
Dear Quan___,you will need a clearance from your doctor prior to surgery. As long as your condition is well controlled, you can be a candidate for a surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Yes, you can have a BBL if you have irritable bowel syndrome. Your surgeon will, however, have specific recommendations of how to position yourself for the toilet during the first few postoperative weeks. Frequent trips to the bathroom may be a bit more difficult for you. Otherwise, there should be no issue, as all of the work is performed in the skin and underlying fatty tissue, without any involvement of the GI tract.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Please talk to your primary doctor to get clearance for plastic surgery and then I suggest you to book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss the best options for your goals.Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)
Yes you can still get a BBL. You may need to consult your primary care physician depending on the extent of your condition. If you are a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully,Arian Mowlavi MD,FACSRealself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
The answer to your question is yes. Patients who have significant medical history’s may need medical clearance from their primary care doctor or medical specialist in your case it may be worthwhile to talk to your gastroenterologist. As long as your gastroenterologist doesn’t see a problem with you moving forward with a BBL then you should be fine and most plastic surgeons would be comfortable doing your procedure pending an assessment and being a good candidate.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
