Like how healthy you have to be to get the BBL and 360 lipo because I don’t want to provide my money for the procedure and they do lab on me and I can get it done do to something with my health.
Answer: Pre Operative Guidelines for Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) Thank you for your question. Generally speaking the two most common factors preventing a patients from clearing are: high BMIlow HCT BMI By far, the most limiting factor for getting the BBL is your BMI. This is a number which factors in your weight and your height. The higher the number, the more weight you carry for your given height. Above a certain BMI level, there are anesthesia and pulmonary risks with the surgery. Most all surgeons have a BMI criteria for elective surgery, but it does vary some from surgeon to surgeon. You can find BMI calculators on the internet easily, and your surgeon should be calculating this during your consultation anyways. In my practice, my BMI limit is 35. IF you are otherwise healthy. If you have diabetes, I would require a lower BMI. For the BBL procedure, I use IV sedation instead of General Anesthesia. With IV anesthesia you are breathing on your own, instead of a ventilator breathing for you. So much of the pulmonary risk is eliminated. For this reason I am comfortable with doing the BBL procedure on healthy patients with BMI of 35. low HCT level Outside of high BMI's, the most common factor we see is low HCT. This is a relatively inexpensive blood test that you can do at almost any walk in lab. Other than that, we do not have other common issues seen. Most patients are already aware if they have high blood pressure or diabetes. You can still have surgery, but you must be cleared and managed post operatively. In any event, you WILL need to have a complete physical prior to your procedure for clearance. But, at the very minimum you can at least check your BMI and HCT! Hope this helps! cheers, Ricardo L Rodriguez Baltimore, Maryland

Answer: BBL candidate Dear QueenZelle, you should be healthy prior to surgery. If you have medical issues, they should be well controlled. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: What health issue can keep you from getting a BBL and 360 lipo? I really want it done but I need to know The tests needed will vary with age, current medical problems, and personal preference to some extent. The PS you select should know everything about your past medical and surgical history and be able to make a determination about what labs should be ordered, the need for EKG, the need for medical clearance, the need for anticoagulation, the appropriateness of the surgical intervention based upon the risk factors, your age, current physique, etc. In general, patients above the age of 45 should get medical clearance for any surgery requiring general anesthesia. In healthy patients under 45, medical clearance is generally not mandatory. Your primary care provider or lab can fax the results of the blood work and other tests required by your PS to his/her office. Our office performs a pregnancy test and a hemoglobin test the day of surgery. If the pregnancy test results are positive, the BBL and lipo 360 will be cancelled. Blood sugar levels should be normalized or very tightly regulated before considering surgery. My patients are provided with a pre-op and post-op checklist which indicates the do's and don'ts prior to and after surgery. They are made aware that not following these guidelines could impact the safety of their surgery, their healing and recovery, and desired results.
