I've been getting Botox for 10 years, generally with good results. I'm curious about the other neurotoxins that are out there now, especially Jeuveau. I've heard it takes effect faster, lasts longer, & may be safer (less risk of migration). But I heard a famous plastic surgeon say that Jeuveau has been a disappointment, & while Daxxify is exciting, nothing to date has held much of a candle to Botox. I’d love to hear more professional opinions & see if there’s consensus

Answer: I love Jeuveau Hi there! I have to say that I really love using Jeuveau. I am a national aesthetic instructor and am knowledgeable and inject with all of the different toxins. Just like anything in medicine, it isn't always the product, it is the person that performs the procedure. There can be quite a lot of variation in practices between providers. Each of the toxins has a different profile but in general we tend to always compare them to Botox. The different brands are Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau, and Daxxify. They are all botulinum serotype A. The toxin is extracted differently and are of different molecular weights so therefore will act a little differently as far as spread and longevity. Some have additional proteins that can prolong the effect or create antibodies. The reason that I like Jeuveau is that this product when injected properly sets up the fastest of all the toxins. It has a similar duration to Botox and my clients feel less stiff. Again, it doesn't really matter which product you choose if you are reconstituting it appropriately, it's fresh and injected properly, you should get similar effects. There are also special ways that we can reconstitute toxins to give it similar longevity to Daxxify. Good luck and keep and open mind. If you try something and you don't like it, it will always wear off and you can go back to your favorite.

Answer: Chemodenervation options Dear Stuart3, Today there are several FDA approved options in the US for correction of wrinkles with the use of chemodenervating agents. Botox was the first agent to market, and with that, captured the entire market at the time. There has since been approval of Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau (thank you for spelling it correctly) and now Daxxify. Each new product launch has been exciting due to the anticipation that something "better" than Botox was coming. While they have all "held a candle to Botox," none have actually been "better." Each product has a slightly modified botulinum molecule that creates a slightly different action, mostly in the form of onset of action. The differences are arguably subtle, so if you need your product to work tomorrow, or the next day, you might want Jeuveau, with it's quicker onset of action (in my experience). The variables here are that each person processes the protein differently, has different anatomy and different tissue characteristics. So, there are nuances to treating patients such that you might respond to Jeuveau with a quicker onset and longer duration. This has given us the opportunity to tailor our applications of chemodenervating agents to the individual. I have personally and professionally had very good experiences with Jeuveau. Hope this helps. Good luck!
