I had breast implants done. Its been months and one breast is larger than the other from the bottom. Also one nipple is a bit higher than the other. Why is this? What are my options here?
Answer: Breast implants and asymmetry Thank you for submitting your questions and photo. I am sorry you are experiencing breast asymmetry months after your procedure. Although it may be difficult to determine exactly what the issue is based on the photo submitted, it appears that your implants are sitting within the breast pocket in different positions. The right implant is sitting lower, which can make the nipple appear higher and pointing in a different direction. You will want to be evaluated by a plastic surgeon who can review your operative report and implant information in order to determine the best treatment option moving forward. Thank you again for reaching out.

Answer: Breast asymmetry Breast asymmetry postop has several causes including different preop breast size, different size implants, capsular contracture and implant malposition. One should be examined by their operating plastic surgeon. For implant malposition or implant displacement, surgery with capsulorrhaphy and/or mesh may be necessary to improve symmetry.

Answer: BA results Dear Forceful725275, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Implants have not settled at the same level The implant of the side you refer to as smaller sits slightly higher than the opposite side and as a result the position of the nipple areola complex appears to be lower (or “look down”). I am wondering if you used the breast binder at all in your post operative period. That helps the implants to settle earlier as it gently pouches them south. Also I am assuming that the positioning is dual plane? In that case the muscle might be keeping the implant high on the affected side. There are manipulations and scans that can be done before a surgical repositioning attempt (revision surgery) but the latter cannot be ruled out
