Can I use bio-oil and silicone scar sheets in the same day?

I recommend silicone sheets in my practice, this gets excellent results on it's own and bio-oil is not usually needed.

Proper scar management is an important part of wound healing process following breast augmentation surgery.
I typically recommend patients to start using silicone scar sheets at 2-3 weeks after surgery. Specifically, I would apply silicone scar sheet to the scar in the morning and wear it all day long (for best results) and at night, remove the silicone scar sheet and apply bio oil/aquaphor/or mederma by massaging it into the scar to hep break down scar tissue.

There's no need to wait for the bio oil to absorb, it isn't doing anything anyway! But heaps of patients use a lotion in or before showering, rinse off the residual, then apply silicon.

You should be able to use the two scar therapies in the same day. Be sure to keep in mind that the key to the success of these therapies is using them consistently. If you have questions or concerns with the treatment reach out to your surgeon.

I would suggest using the silicone sheets during the day and the oil at night. Don't combine the two at the same time.

Congratulations on your procedure. As per your surgeon, you may use almost any scar treatment you desire. Using the Bio oil may make the skin a bit slippery which may inhibit the adhesive in the silicone tape (unless of course you are just using silicone sheeting) from adhering. I would suggest trying it and then deciding. If there’s an issues, use one of the other. I use just 3M silicone tape. Sticks in place for days. I have my patients prep with alcohol, then apply it.
