Hi: Hoping to have a circumferential as well as gyno reduction surgery after 100lbs of weight loss. Currently when I gain/lose weight now it is more visible in certain areas first(Flanks and stomach for example), then moves to other body parts. When you excise/suction fat cells as part of the above surgeries, in years/months to come when I gain/lose fat via exercise and diet -- will the fat decrease/accumulate in new areas since the fat cells in flank/stomach were removed via surgery?
Answer: Circumferential Lift with liposuction So, I always recommend Vaser liposuction when people are getting excess skin removed. It is a more advanced form of liposuction that uses ultrasound technology and heat to melt and remove the fat, not just suck it out like traditional liposuction. The ultrasound technology also stimulates collagen production to help heal and tighten the skin. Now with all that being said, no surgeon can guarantee to get every bit of fat out so it is possible to gain weight in that area again. In most cases patients will accumulate weight more in other places first than the liposuctioned areas. The goal should be to maintain your new body though through being active and eating healthier. If that’s not in your plans, don’t plan to have your body stay sculpted for more than a few years. If you want to pursue a better body, and maintain it, feel free to reach out for a consultation and we can go over in more detail. Smith Plastic Surgery 702-838-2455

Answer: Weight Gain after a 360 Circumferential Body Lift and Gynecomastia Surgery Thank you for your question regarding the distribution of fat gain after a 360 circumferential tummy tuck and gynecomastia surgery. After these procedures, mainly the 360 circumferential tummy tuck and gynecomastia surgery, there is a healing process. During the healing process, your body burns muscle to heal. You must consume 100-120 grams of protein in the healing stages. After the healing stages, if you gain weight, the weight gain will be distributed in new areas. If you gain weight after your 360 circumferential tummy tuck and gynecomastia surgery, it will probably be distributed in your upper back, mid-back, possibly lower back, and shoulders. It is doubtful that fat will accumulate in the areas where you had surgery; therefore, good luck with your tummy tuck and gynecomastia surgery. As with all surgeries, plan on not gaining weight so you don't have to worry about where the new fat will subtly. Therefore, lead an active lifestyle. I hope I have helped to answer your question regarding fat gain after a tummy tuck and gynecomastia. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Fat Not all fat cells will be removed with liposuction, and you will still have all the internal fat cells by your organs where fat accumulates first. Fat cells do not travel. If you gain weight, you may find you are not as full in the areas treated with liposuction.

Answer: Fat gain/loss after circumferential tummy tuck Hi,When you undergo circumferential and gynecomastia reduction surgery, the fat cells in the targeted areas will be removed, which will result in a decrease in the overall amount of fat in those areas. However, it is important to understand that fat cells are not completely removed from the body during these procedures. Instead, they are reduced in number, and the remaining fat cells in the treated areas can still grow or shrink in size in response to changes in your weight. When you gain weight after the surgery, it is possible that the remaining fat cells in the treated areas may still accumulate more fat, causing an increase in the size of those areas. However, it is also possible that new areas of the body may accumulate fat more easily, particularly if you have lost fat cells in those areas due to the weight loss and surgery. It's important to note that the distribution of fat in the body is largely determined by genetics, so some people may be more prone to gaining or losing fat in certain areas than others. However, maintaining a healthy weight through diet and exercise can help to minimize the likelihood of fat accumulating in unwanted areas, and can help to ensure the best long-term results from your surgery.Thank you

Answer: Distribution Congratulations on your impressive weight loss! After a tummy tuck and liposuction you can still gain and lose weight. You should notice that it occurs more evenly since the "pockets" of fat have been removed. Hope that helps.
