Thirteen years ago I had a breast reduction going from an E to DDcup. I didn’t have a vertical scar on my right breast, only under the fold. On my left, I had a vertical, anchor and areola scar as more tissue was removed. I had a great deal of back pain and still do, I felt there wasn’t enough tissue removed at the time. Now I’ve had kids, I’d like a lift and potential further reduction. I’d like to create a vertical scar on my right breast as I feel it’s too square. Is this a possible? Thanks!
Answer: Breast reduction revision Dear sierra9999, boxy shape of your breasts is most likely caused by anchor pattern incision. I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Addressing Square Shape in Breast Reduction Revision with a Breast Lift Hello Sierra9999, Thank you for your question about whether a breast lift can help correct the square shape of your breasts following a breast reduction revision. I appreciate the history and pictures you've provided. Yes, I believe a revision combined with a breast lift can effectively address the square shape of your breasts. It seems that over time, your breasts have developed this shape, possibly due to scar tissue formation. Regardless of the cause, this can be corrected. We can utilize the previous incisions and create a vertical scar on the right breast if needed. If you prefer, you can also opt to have the breasts further reduced during this surgery. I hope your revision breast reduction not only achieves your desired breast appearance but also helps in reducing your back pain. Wishing you the best of luck. Sincerely, J. Answer: Bellesoma Method The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Square breasts It seems that your result is fairly good given the reduction years ago. The transverse squareness seems to be an issue with the lateral sweep of your breast that can often be corrected by a lateral axillary lift combined with perhaps a minor breast revision. For more upper pull fullness, if desired, you could consider an implant, or perhaps fat grafting. Good luck
