Will breast lift reduce size?

Hi @Jennabay, thanks for your question. You can achieve great results by raising the base and improving the overall proportion. This will create overall harmony. The lift can be performed through an L-shaped incision scar instead of an anchor. This allows me to reposition your own breast tissue and improve the projection of the upper pole and medial areas without losing volume. HI-The opinions of both surgeons are in my opinion correct. If you undergo a breast lift with autologous augmentation you should not lose volume in the breast as it is preserving the volume you currently have. On the other hand, if you undergo a breast lift without autologous augmentation by default you will lose some breast volume which will decrease the overall size of your breast. For your particular needs, I suggest you undergo a breast lift with autologous augmentation as that will achieve the most preservation of volume and size. breast lift shouldn't cause reduction in breast size. My preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity.

Upper pole fullness is elusive, and auto-augmentation with fatty tissue flaps or fat grafting make only a minimal difference. Breast implants are safe, effective at giving what most women want, and are very durable. Breast lifting only requires a small amount of tissue and skin to be removed. Changes in cup size are less to do with volume loss than shape change (more breast tissue up on the chest wall and not down filling the cup of the bra).

Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs or told us your bra size. However, the technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.

With a breast lift, breast tissue is not removed, but excess skin is. If you have a lot of excess skin, you may be smaller after a lift.
