I had 2000 FUE grafts 12 days ago. Now I can see the hairs and not many have shocked loss yet, it looks very sparse and like density will be low. I understand it will thicken in 12-18 months. But the hairs are so far apart I can’t see it looking good. I’ve heard around 40 grafts per cm2 is ok. I can count 10-15 per cm2 in mine. I’m worried already and only 12 days in.
Answer: Density If you are concerned please follow up with your doctor for an exam. Ultimately, you won't really know until you see results in 6 to 12 months.

Answer: Too soon to assess Its hard to say at 12 days what the ultimate density will be and what it will look like. Remember you loose some of the grafts above the surface of the skin after surgery but the root of the hairs lie dormant under the skin until they start to grow around 3-4 months. So what you are seeing now is probably less grafts per square centimeter than was originally implanted.

Answer: Hair density after transplant Thank you for your question as this is often a concern of patients after hair transplant. It is too early to draw conclusions as to the density of your hair transplant. Many factors come into play when determining density in hair transplantation such as the thickness of the hair, the texture of the hair, etc. It is best to wait to allow for the grafts to regrow and if needed a secondary procedure can always be performed to help increase the density.

Answer: Density after FUE Thank you for your pictures! you are correct in asserting that ~40u/cm2 gives adequate frontal hairline density. However right now its hard to determine full density and what is to be expected so early on in the healing process. Honestly, 2000 grafts for the frontal area is a reasonable number. Keep up with the post transplant hair care and slowly you will begin to see your results. Patience is the name of the game here. Best of luck!

Answer: HAIR GROWTH It is much too early to judge your result. Early growth has just started at the 3 month mark. At 6 months you will be at only about 50% growth, at 12 months you will be at roughly 90% growth. Remain patient and continue to follow your doctors post op care instructions.
