Is it true that there are FUE grafts under the skin that you cannot see?

Question

Hi, recently had a few grafts (FUE) to strengthen my hairline. I could see the red bumps afterwards where the hair had been transplanted. I was worried that i could not not see these bumps in other areas thinking that they had been missed. However i have heard some grafts are put under the skin and cannot be seen (by the visible red bump), just wondered if this is true or not? Thanks

If you are concerned please follow up with your doctor for an exam. This may or may NOT be normal. Sometimes there are red bumps from ingrown hairs.

Immediately after the procedure, all grafts should be visible unless they were buried when placed. If this occurs, it likely will result in an ingrown hair. A week or so after the procedure, it becomes more difficult to see the grafts as they heal and the hair shafts begin to shed. The permenant growth usually does not begin until the third month or so.

Actually  I have to  check  the problem at least from your well focused photos. These small or different sized red bumps may be observed 1-2 months after HT op . Reason for that is kinky new growing hair causes small enfected foci of underneath skin. I suggest you to hot water compress on to pimples  by using a small hot wet towel for 2-3 minutes and 2 times  a day for 1 week.İt surprisingly decrease the inflammation .

If by bumps you mean the small scab where a graft is placed, it is possible that not all of the grafts developed a scab.  Also, in the hairline it is important to leave gaps between grafts to prevent an unnatural look.

Properly placed FUE or any hair transplanted grafts should be placed flush with the skin. You should not see bumps or red marks and if you do, go back to see your doctor
