What is the flank area? (Photos)

The flanks are the sides of  your lower torso that extend from your back (what some people refer to as "love handles').
In your picture it is the lower marks only (the ones above are lower and upper back rolls.)

The flanks represent an area from the side posteriorly and inferiorly, but you need to make sure that the upper portion is included in the drawing.

 Thanks much for reaching out. In the pictures you have provided you're looking at the posterior flanks and back. The flanks really just means your sides. So your posterior flanks is your side going towards the center of your back but not quite the center of your back. However this term is used loosely so speak with your plastic surgeon and find out if when he calls it post your flanks what exactly he intends  to target .

Usually this  means the waist area going to the back. Each doctor is a bit different. Best to review with yours.
