I'm a 56-yr old woman. I´ve been having btx and hyaluronic acid applications on my face since I was 50, and Thermage radio frequency once a yr for 3 years. I'm happy w/the results, except for 1thing: For the last year and a half or 2, I've noticed btx does not totally ERASE frown lines. Can I have hyaluronic acid as a complement to botox if the latter does not completely erase the lineS? (in fact, they are not HUGE lines, but they're esp noticeable with lateral light/sun. Thank you in advance!

Answer: Adding Filler After Botox Yes, once the Botox has taken full effect and weakened the muscle sufficiently if there is still lines present at rest they can be further softened with fillers. They can be improved, but may not be fully erased. Sometimes a resurfacing treatment is also added to further improve. This is a high risk area for injection of fillers because of the blood supply, so make sure you are under the care of an experienced physician provider to minimize the risks of complications.

Answer: Fillers for frown lines Some patients may simply require additional Botox if there continues to be some movement of the muscles in between the brows. If it is due to volume loss then fillers can be used but this area is associated with an increased risk in serious adverse events. I would start with PDO threads to increase collagen synthesis. Also, combining PDO threads with PRP and micro needling is an effective treatment. If these treatments were not effective then proceeding to filler injection could be an option although I would be very cautious and should only be done by those with experience in this area. Using a cannula might reduce the risk of complications. Best of luck!
