I want a lift, but I want to make sure my breasts don't just go back to their original position over time. Do I need to get a reduction at my size as well? If so, what cup size do you recommend I reduce them to in order to get long term results on the lift?
Answer: WIll a breast lift on 32 DDD/G hold up? Most likely not. Do they hold up now? DDD/G cup size on a 32 inch torso seems disproportionately large. In all liklihood, you may NOT even be able to do a full breast lift WITHOUT reducing some of your tissue, without causing problems. If you have further questions, my office staff (in Beverly Hills 310-777-5400) is happy to help you as we see patients from all over the country.

Answer: Breast lift - Internal bra - mastopexy thank you for your question. Whenever breast tissue is heavy, or support is needed for various reasoen an internal bra might be a good option when undergoing a breast lift. The internal bra can be either created using your own tissue, or a mesh-like material. This way the breast tissue receives addtional support. Internal bra techniques can be quiet useful, but are not needed in all cases. I hope this helps.

Answer: Breast lift After a breast lift your tissues will continue to age naturally but you will be more "ahead of the game" than if you didn't have the lift. The heavier the breasts, the more likely they are to sag over time due to loss of elasticity of the tissues. Generally you'll have more longevity from your results if you also considered a reduction because of this. Your board certified plastic surgeon can help you determine a good size for you that would match your frame and surgical goals.

Answer: Improvements usually persist - but also always age over time Many considerations here, but the short answer is your breasts will always continue to age, but if you are quite large and are taken down to a C/D-range (yes, would recommend some degree of reduction - generally necessary anyway), you should never be anywhere close to where you area again (unless severe weight changes - and/or pregnancies - over time occur). Generally, (younger) age, post-operative support, ongoing fitness and good quality of skin (plus excellent surgical technique, and again, the size you are left with - smaller generally better) all should help you maintain your desired results. It is also quite possible to re-reduce/lift again in the future (many years down the road . . . )

Answer: Breast lift or just reduction? This question cannot be answered without a good exam and photographs would help. A small or moderate reduction is often needed for appropriate contouring of the breast. This may involve removal of some tissue to help prevent early re-drooping. You should consider going to a board certified plastic surgeon to at least talk about different approaches and expectations. A breast lift rarely re-droops to anything close to its original shape.
