I am 36 years old. I want to have a facelift, as I have been told it is the only way to get rid of the jowls and define my jawline. I also have an assymetry that is (partially) the result of buccal fat removal that did not heal properly (on my right side). I would like to get your opinions! Thank you!
Answer: Facelift surgery to tighten the jaw line Thanks for sending in our photos.Yes a mini facelift would sharpen your jawline but probably have little effect on you neck. Many patients at your age are opting for strengthening the jawline with fillers to achieve a very similar effect. As a surgeon of course I am happy to offer surgical options for patients, but I have been seeing such nice results with fillers in our younger patients that I would likely recomend fillers at your stage.I recommend you consult a practice that does both.Good luck

Answer: Am I a candidate for a facelift Hello,A facelift results in a more oval face shape. You don't like the shape of your jowls and jawline, and that is exactly what a facelift changes. You can consider non surgical treatments as well, fortunately you have options to go either surgical or nonsurgical. Careful filler to you midface will slim your jawline, and you may be a candidate for Belkyra as well, which can reduce fat under the chin and along the jawline.A detailed consultation with someone experienced in both surgical and non surgical treatments will be helpful for you.All the best to you,Dr. Nancy de Kleer

Answer: A mini facelift would be a great idea. The goal is to have patients looking natural. These can typically be done in the office under local anesthesia. Usually there are no drains, no outside stitches, and patients can go out in public the same day, although I usually recommend they low for the first couple days. I routinely tell people to take a few days to a week off work and to hide out but some people are very nervous especially celebrities and I usually tell them to hide out for two weeks. As with any scar on the human body, initially scars are red, hard and raised and it typically takes six months to a year for them to become a soft thin white line. I strongly feel that it's very important to have an honest conversation with your surgeon about your particular situation, lifestyle, work environment and specifically which procedures you're having done so that you both have the most honest answer about your recovery and are realistic with expectations and results. I hope this helps and wish you all the best in your surgery and event. If it does, please take a moment to up vote this answer on the “respond” button on the top right.

Answer: #RealselfQ: 36 year old candidate for a facelift (jowls, fat underneath the chin and asymmetry) - What are your opinions? Looking at your photos, I believe you could benefit from a gentle facelift combined with submental and jowl liposuction.
