Is it safe to sleep on a BBL mattress ( mattress with a hole for the butt area)?

I m having a mommy make over that will include a TT and a BBL. I am consedering getting a BBL matress for my recovering time Is this safe for the newly grafted fat cells?

Thank you for your question regarding a BBL mattress for your buttock. Yes, I firmly believe in a BBL mattress after your BBL procedure. I believe in it so much that I custom-make BBL mattresses for almost all my BBL patients. During healing from a BBL, the newly transferred fat cells mustn't be compressed. If they are compressed, they become strangulated, run out of oxygen, and die; this leads to a sub-optimal result. The BBL mattress should let your buttock hang and avoid contact with any surface. Even sheets on a bed or the mattress can impact the recovery of the fat. Therefore I highly endorse the BBL mattress after a BBL procedure.

In my practice, I do not want any pressure after any fat transfer procedure to the area. The fat was transferred for three weeks. In my experience, the BBL mattress can be a great option for patients.

I recommend that you ask your board-certified plastic surgeon for his/her office staff.

It is important to keep pressure off the fat grafted areas for as long as possible. Most surgeons have their own protocol for pressure offloading and that time can range from two weeks to two months. Using BBL cushions or mattresses appear to be effective options as long as they don't put pressure on any grafted area or make it more difficult for you to get out of bed from the tummy tuck. Combining a tummy tuck and BBL can make your recovery harder, so understand you will have to be extra vigilant about pressure offloading. 
Be sure to discuss this your surgeon to ensure they are okay with this and you are clear on their protocol so you can optimize your outcome.

You still may have to sleep on your sides because you will still put pressure on your grafted fat. It would be better to do the procedures at a separate time.
