Answer: Pressure offloading is important It is important to keep pressure off the fat grafted areas for as long as possible. Most surgeons have their own protocol for pressure offloading and that time can range from two weeks to two months. Using BBL cushions or mattresses appear to be effective options as long as they don't put pressure on any grafted area or make it more difficult for you to get out of bed from the tummy tuck. Combining a tummy tuck and BBL can make your recovery harder, so understand you will have to be extra vigilant about pressure offloading. Be sure to discuss this your surgeon to ensure they are okay with this and you are clear on their protocol so you can optimize your outcome.

Answer: Is it safe to sleep on a BBL mattress? Hello @psanford, thank you for your question. It is always important to take into consideration the opinion of the specialist who performed the surgery. It depends a lot on the surgical technique and the technology used in this procedure. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.
