If you have a diagnosis of clinical hypothyroidism, it is necessary to regulate hormone levels in the first instance. Having thyroid hormone levels at adequate levels and your Hemoglobin level at a passing level, you can schedule your surgery date without any inconvenience.
Thank you for your question regarding if it is safe for you to undergo a mommy makeover procedure. In my experience, for patients with certain medical conditions, they will be required to undergo pre-admission testing to ensure that it is safe to proceed with surgery.I would call your surgeons office to make him/her aware and ask if any testing is needed before moving forward with surgery.
Hello! thanks for your question. Is possible to do surgery if you have Hyperthyroidism. The most important is to be under good control with your medications. Having the thyroid hormones in normal levels will prevent complications during and after the surgical procedure.I hope this info could help you.
Thank you for your question. Yes you can still get a Mommy makeover with hyperthyroidism as long as you are medically cleared. I would speak to a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss your options and questions. Best of luck .
With every patient, it is important to make sure your surgeon is considering your whole health picture. In your case, it would be important to make sure your hyperthyroidism is appropriately treated and controlled. A discussion with between your endocrinologist, anesthesiologist and surgeon is important to perform a safe surgery. Also, with hyperthryoidism, some people experience weight loss, so reaching a stable weight is also important. As always, seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon
Hello! In your case, our recommendation is to make an appointment with your endocrinologist, and after an evaluation and tests to determine if your thyroid hormones are controlled, if so, you can perform the surgical procedure. Thank you for contacting us!
Thank you for your question. You can have a MMO if you have hyperthyroidisms long your treatment is under controlled. You can talked to your Endocrinologist about it so he can give you the advice on how to take the medication prior and after to the surgery. Hope this helps!
Hi! Yes, I do perform MMO on hyperthyroid patients. You would have to have it under control, normal thyroid levels, on medication and have a preoperative endocrine evaluation and clearance to make sure everything is optimized prior to undergoing general anesthesia. Hope this helps!
Hi amabbi,Hyperthyroidism would not preclude you from having a MMO...but it has to be both stable and managed. I'd suggest meeting with your PCP and/or endocrinologist (whomever is managing the disorder) to discuss the short and long term management strategies...once your hyperthyroidism is stable and managed, have that provider write a summary letter or letter of clearance. If you show up to your plastic surgery appointment with that letter, it helps your surgeon to understand the status of your condition.Hope this helps.Best,Christopher Pannucci MDBoard Certified Plastic SurgeonPlastic Surgery NorthwestSpokane, Washington
Hello @amabbl thank you for your question.n Remember that any surgical procedure must go through a review of the patient's clinical history and current state of health. If you have regulated the thyroid process with medication you can have your surgery without problem. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.
I would suggest first doing liposuction to remove excess fat from the abdomen and flanks. Then, if you have excess skin or your muscles are weak, consider the tuck 6 months later. Weak and prominent muscles can also be treated nonsurgically with EMSculpt. You may need medical clearance first.
I would suggest going with liposuction for now to remove excess fat of your abdomen and flanks. Also, weight loss would be very helpful to get you into a much healthier weight, and no fat transfers should be done during weight loss. A weight of 285 in a women of 5'8" is not "good health."
Hello, thank you for your question and photos. Tummy Tuck and Liposuction would be suggested for you. You will have a flatter abdomen once the excess skin is removed. Contoured body shape will be achieved via Liposuction when the excess fat is taken out of the body. A better evaluation can be...
