Liposuction and fat transfer is the ideal and most appropriate procedure. That said this procedure has massive variation in skill, experience and approach among plastic surgeons. In order to get a quality outcome, you may need a few rounds of fat transfer. In my opinion, fat should be transferred, starting on the outside of your thigh, gradually building up the volume to get an ideal S-curve a.k.a. hourglass, a.k.a. coke bottle shape The Chi is working with the right plastic surgeon and finding the right provider may be much more difficult than you anticipate. There simply aren’t that many plastic surgeons of truly mastered body contouring, using liposuction and fat transfer. There are plenty of plastic surgeons who claim to be good at this procedure, and claim to have done lots of surgery with good track records. When you compare, side-by-side and really look at who does quality work the number of providers who mastered this procedure are in a small fraction or a small elite minority. Even those who have mastered the technical aspect of doing quality, liposuction, and fat, grafting may have very different ideas of what the ideal female body should look like. Personally, and someone like you, I do the fat grafting with patients laying on their side in order to create the best S-curve possible Gahan, where you need volume is in the lateral buttocks at outer thigh, not posterior projection. Simply positioning the patient in the correct anatomic position during the procedure can have a major impact on what the results look like. You don’t have excess fat to waste, so no fat should be thrown away, and there is no room for error, leading to revisions or corrective surgery if done incorrectly in the first place. Finding the right provider is inherently difficult. These are some general guidelines that may be helpful. First and foremost, whenever possible, avoid virtual consultations, if at all possible. Meeting surgeons through in person consultations is always better than doing this to any other media Call bring pictures of your body to use as a reference during any consultation. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their entire portfolio, showing you all previous results of previous patient who had similar body characteristics to your own. And experienced plastic surgeon should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. highly experienced surgeons should in fact have access to hundreds or preferably thousands of before and after pictures. being shown a handful of pre-selected images, representing the best results of a providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider or how many of these procedures they’ve actually performed. looking very carefully at the results starting at the knee and ending at the arm pit. This is how much should be incorporated when doing proper body contouring. Recognize that early fat transfer results can look very impressive, but do not in any way represent final results. There may be a temptation to take after pictures within a few weeks after the procedure at which time the fat grafting results often look very dramatic. True after pictures should never be taken last than 3 to 6 months from the date of surgery. Never assume after pictures are mature, final outcomes without confirmation. Ask the exact timeframe of when after pictures were taken. Any evidence of having had recent surgery, such as pictures taken in the operating room, signs of bruising or surgical markings are an easy way to detect someone is showing you early results, which are not in any way reflective of final results. Bring pictures of your own body to use as a reference to make sure that the provider can show you previous patients who looked just like you.Recognize that a fat transfer procedure always includes Liposuction and fat grafting. Try to judge providers equally regarding their liposuction, skill and fat transfer skill. When reviewing Liposuction results, ask providers to find out exactly what areas were included in what areas were not included. Look very carefully. Had transition zone between treated an untreated areas. Look very carefully for any contour, imperfection, or contour irregularity in any area treated with Liposuction. Spend lots of time looking very carefully. A detail oriented plastic surgeon always takes the amount of time necessary to do quality work. This should be true for both surgery and consultations. There is a lot of information to review during a proper consultation for this procedure. A quality consultation should take 45 minutes to an hour. If you feel like you didn’t get all your questions answered or still have concerns after having schedule a consultation recognize that there is no wrong in scheduling a follow up or second consultation. There is no correct number of consultations needed to find the best provider. You may be surprised at some of the last known surgeons without a lot of online. Recognition may represent in credible sources of talent. Famous does not equal talented. Considering how much variation there is a Liposuction Inc fat, transfer skills among plastic surgeons, including those who have decades of experience with excellent reputations, I would suggest a minimum of five consultations before considering choosing a provider. Some individuals may live in rural communities where there simply isn’t a great abundance of plastic surgeons. Sometimes traveling may be necessary to find the best provider. Generally speaking, I try to encourage people to avoid traveling long distances for elective surgical procedure if at all possible. If you choose to travel, try to keep distances to What is possible in a days driving. When in doubt, slow down and schedule more consultations. In the hands of the right provider, you have the potential for a stunning body transformation. If you don’t go through a rigorous process of provider selection, you are likely to be disappointed, and once the procedure is done incorrectly, it’s very difficult to play catch-up, and the end result will never be great. Good luck, Mats Hagstrom MD
