I've been doing IF for 2 years. I had arm lipo and bl/ba 6 months ago and went back to IF a week or 2 after surgery and I believe it really helped in my recovery. This time around I had a BBL and want to get back to IF but I don't want to jeopardize my results. I'm not calorie counting but I try to eat nutrient dense foods since my appetite has been reduced post op. (I had a TT along with the BBL). Will IF ruin my BBL?
Answer: Intermittent fasting after BBL It's important to note that medical and recovery guidelines can vary among individuals, and it's crucial to follow your surgeon's specific postoperative instructions. However, in general, intermittent fasting (IF) may need to be approached with caution after a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) or any other surgical procedure. Here are some considerations: Nutrient Intake and Healing: After surgery, your body requires sufficient nutrients to support the healing process. Intermittent fasting, which involves periods of eating and fasting, may impact your ability to consume an adequate amount of nutrients during the recovery period. Energy Levels: Surgery can lead to increased energy expenditure as the body works to heal and recover. Maintaining a consistent and balanced intake of nutrients, including proteins and carbohydrates, is important for energy levels during the recovery phase. Hydration: Staying hydrated is crucial for the healing process. Extended fasting periods may lead to dehydration, which can negatively impact recovery. Medication Timing: If you are prescribed medications during your recovery, it's important to take them as directed. Fasting may affect the absorption and effectiveness of some medications. Consultation with Your Surgeon: Before resuming intermittent fasting or making any significant changes to your diet, consult with your plastic surgeon. They can provide guidance based on your individual health, the specifics of your surgery, and your recovery progress. Gradual Resumption: If you were following an intermittent fasting routine before surgery, consider gradually resuming it as your surgeon advises. Start with shorter fasting periods and monitor how your body responds. It's crucial to prioritize your recovery and provide your body with the necessary nutrients and energy during the healing process. Always communicate openly with your surgeon about your dietary plans and seek their guidance for a safe and effective recovery. Remember that individual recovery experiences can vary, and what works for one person may not be suitable for another. Follow the specific postoperative instructions provided by your surgeon, and reach out to them with any concerns or questions about your recovery and dietary choices.

Answer: Intermittent fasting after BBL Dear Affectionate173333, I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.
