Will 460 ccs high profile silicone implants over the muscle give me a tennis ball look?

I would be less concerned with the size than the placement. You'll get a more natural look placing the implants under the muscle. I would thing about getting a second opinion from another board certified plastic surgeon in your area (link below) just to be on the safe side. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. In my practice I recommend to use the Cohesive Gel - Silicón Breast Implants with textured cover ("gummy bear implants") They are quite safe and aesthetically best as they give a firmer consistency, better projection and natural appearance.Without photos is difficult to give you an approximation of the volume you need. Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Firstly you need to post pictures. Secondly, why over the muscle? Under the muscle is the preferred approach of most plastic surgeons. You may want to get some more opinions prior to your surgery. Just saying..........

While this may be a choice most will go below the muscle for better coverage and support and lower capsule contraction rates. I would consider another consultation. Posting pics will give us more to evaluate as well. Good Luck!

Hi Storm1992.  Thank you for your question.  Placing an implant above the muscle and using a full profile implant will help correct some sagging in breasts and create cleavage.  The thickness of your breast & skin tissue envelope factors into how much of the implant outline is transmitted visually when going above the muscle.  Using silicone implants and placing them under the muscle are useful for creating a more "natural" /sloped look because the muscle partially compresses the top of the implant.  A board certified Plastic surgeon can review the long term outcomes (including recurrent sagging, contracture, loss of nipple sensation, ability to breast feed, ease of mammography, etc.) of the different choices in placement, incisions, profile, etc.  Best wishes!

to determine implant size is based on chest wall measurements that fit your
body. Once we determine that we can choose the profile based on what you
want or need to achieve.



Implants
under the muscle, there is less risk of capsular contracture. Anatomic
implants tend to give a more natural shape with more nipple projection.

For your size, 460cc is not too large an implant. However, if you are currently a B and have "deflated" breasts, I would question the judgement of placing an implant on top of the muscle. The disadvantage of subglandular placement in a thin, tall woman with minimal breast tissue are significant including obvious upper pole cavitation, rippling, and a palpable implant edge. A submuscular implant position makes more sense to camouflage the implant and have a more natural slope to the upper breast.
