Are fajas and foam required to have good results?

The compression garment and the length of wear varies with the PS so follow the post-operative protocol guidance provided by your PS. 
My patients typically wear a properly fitted adjustable compression garment (no fajas or foam) for six weeks; but follow-ups, phone calls, and emails provide feedback regarding the extension of this time.
I prefer adjustable garments with multiple bands so that tension can be adjusted and the areas of liposuction are less likely to get a fluid collection.   The key here is the size and the ability to tighten the garment not the brand or make.

Thank you for your question! The purpose of post surgical garments is to help decrease swelling and maintain contour to the surgical areas. I advise my patients to wear the surgical garments I provide for 3 weeks  24/7, starting immediately after surgery, then an additional 3 weeks at night only. I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon and discussing specific post surgical recommendations. Best of luck!

Thank you for your question.  I recommend all my patients to wear a tight compression garment after surgery.  It will help with swelling and help reduce fluid build up.  During a tummy tuck I don't require foam to be worn but I do require it when doing lipo on the abdomen area.  I originally start a patient off in an abdominal binder after a tummy tuck and about a few days later I have them get into a faja.   I would follow your surgeons recommendations.  Best of luck to you. 

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  I do not think they are required, but some foam application to the site of liposuction can help minimize swelling and bruising.  I do advocate for all patients that a well-fitted compression garment is used for at least 6 weeks after surgery.  Hope this helps.
